Milwaukee Ballet

Interactive Design

The 2002-2003 Web site for the Milwaukee Ballet featured amazing photography by Jeff Salzer. At the time the Milwaukee Art Museum just opened the Calatrava addition. The beautiful structure became the back drop for the 2002-2003 marketing campaign.

The Ballet was a great client to work with. Former Director of Marketing Susan Loris knew the site should reflect the new look and to be more dynamic than past incarnations. The organization put an amazing amount of trust in us. Without many constraints or rules I was empowered to create a site that would represent the Ballet appropriately.

The treatment of the imagery created a consistent and dynamic feel, even if only part of the site was in Flash. Because TABLES were used instead of CSS (a design critera) it was necessary to program scripts to pull in the correct imagery and layout for each page with minimal HTML coding.

The result was a resounding success. With the ability to modify ticket availablity, site content, and track users the Milwaukee Ballet took a leap forward with their new online presence.

The site was received well by the design community. Mentioned in many design portals the design proved it was as functional as it was beautiful.
