Metroparent Magazine
Interactive Design
Published 12 times each year, metroparent is distributed to and available free at more than 750 locations in southeastern Wisconsin, including hospitals, schools and day care centers, grocery stores, libraries, retailers, medical offices and recreation locations.
Metroparent's previous site design required the client to use FTP and Frontpage to publish new content to the site. Their goal with the new site was to make the publishing process easier and refresh the site design and navigation. Editor Edie Boatman knew she wanted a very clean site that provided some of the monthly content online as well as their full event calendar.
The final design was tweaked a bit from the original screen design but has been very effective for metroparent. The stories are now properly described in TITLE and META tags increasing their availabilty in Search Engines. With predefined image templates and a new content managment system metroparent now has full control of their Web site.
The cost savings with the new site has allowed the client to further enhance the site with additional tools, surveys, and custom design work. With their goals satisfied metroparent can now focus on the content instead of the old cumbersome publishing process.
